Born and raised in the North East of England, Carley attained a First-Class Degree in Media Production: Television, Radio and Film and a Creative Writing MA, along with many Drama related credentials. She has produced short films since 2012, is one of 8 candidates that took part in the BFI Creative Producer Lab 22/23 that aims to discover and develop the next generation of producing talent in film, a HETV chosen 50, awarded The University of Sunderland Alumni Achiever of the Year Award 2020 and is a RTS nominated Rising Star Producer/Director with her short film 'Enough' that is currently doing a successful run on the film festival circuit. Carley has worked in Theatre, Film and Television from childhood, working her way up through the ranks from runner to freelance script supervisor and now into producing, working on over 100 episodes of Emmerdale to High End TV Drama's for Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix and feature films such as Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 & 2, Kraven the Hunter, Black Adam and Enzo Ferrari; whilst continuing to build on her aspirations in producing alongside. Her love for writing and developing scripts has been something she has worked her whole life to achieving and she has recently created and written an original 6-part psychological TV drama, that she is developing with her agent Madeleine Cotter at WGM Atlantic Talent and Literary agent. Founder of production company Canny Northern Media Ltd and Working-Class Films, she is collaborating with a number of producers on an arts council funded project 'Stripped Down' part of an art installation for the NHS 75th Anniversary in London, a BFI short film 'Past Caring' that she is co-producing and directing, a feature film Elephant Men and a feature she is pitching to the Lift Off Network at pinewood known as NE31 that already has interest from celebrity names due . Carley is committed to Northern voices and hopes to champion the underrepresented working-class background in which she originates, through compelling and emotive storytelling, tackling social and political issues that visual representation is key to spread awareness. She is working alongside Philip Barantini on the TV Show Boiling Point and takes inspiration from his work in producing, directing and writing.
