Christopher Miles nació en Londres, Inglaterra. Estudió en el IDHEC, el Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques de París, y dirigió The Six-Sided Triangle (1963), nominado al Oscar. Luego dirigió The Virgin and the Gypsy (1970), que fue nominada a Golden Gobe, That Lucky Touch (1975), Alternative 3 (1977), Priest of Love (1981), The Clandestine Marriage (1999) y The Maids. (1975), que también coescribió.
