Eduardo Luis Argüelles is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He is of Mexican descent and was born in Los Angeles but grew up in the Philippines as the son of an expatriate engineer. He has worked in the U.S. for the past twenty five years in every aspect of the film/tv business from development to post-production. Eduardo's films depict the American Latino experience exploring the themes of Mexican-American identity, heritage, race, culture, spirituality, and justice. His short documentary on Mexico's cultural celebration "Dia de los Muertos," won a Pacific Southwest Emmy, and his PSA on anti-gang violence for Father Greg Boyle's Homeboy Industries was nominated for a Los Angeles area Emmy. His short film "A Dream Tonal," about the Mesoamerican belief of animal spirit 'soul loss,' won best short at the Santa Fe Metaphysical Film Festival. "Cine Loteria," a quirky, art house comedy is his first narrative feature film that successfully ran at the 25th San Diego Latino Film Festival. He is currently in development on his second feature film.
