As a Jewish filmmaker and one of the world’s most renowned directors, Spielberg used black-and-white imagery to disseminate the horrific crimes of the Nazis during World War II. The juxtaposition of lives saved inside Schindler's List and death outside of it is heartbreaking. Schindler sacrificed his fortune, saving 1,100 Jews, who, in turn, immortalized his legacy.
