My favorite new drama of the year. The character-driven medical drama has reached its peak, with Freddie Highmore's performance being indispensable to its success. The handling of character relationships in this series is something other screenwriters can learn from; the allocation of screentime for the main plot and subplot is just right, and the supporting characters are also vividly portrayed. Each character is multi-dimensional, especially the two new additions, and there are hardly any stereotypical roles so far. There is also much development potential for the various character relationships. Each episode is rich in detail and well-designed. Overall, it's engaging, refreshing, and surprisingly aligns well with the positive values in the current political atmosphere. Looking forward to the next season.
Besides being a heartwarming depiction of a autistic character, the show also features a bunch of interesting characters and unexpected relationships. Loved it.

A really nice medical drama.Always very good and entertaining. It inspires you to pursue your dreams and to create your own limits.
Learning opportunity.I love medical shows since Grey’s Anatomy, because I think they all introduce new important subjects to be discussed. On this one, Freddie Highmore has the responsibility of giving life to Dr. Shaun, a brilliant doctor who has autism and Savant syndrome, and he is brilliant. He makes us understand Shaun and learn with him.
More of the same.I started watching this show but I couldn’t see the difference between other medical shows. I know, and I agree, that Shaun’s story is important, but unfortunately it was not enough to make me want to keep watching it.
