Fati (2023)

The film is based on the true story of three residents of a border town and contraband cigarettes that have mysteriously disappeared without return. Vitals, a chemistry teacher at Upeniku Secondary School, receives news that his apartment will soon be seized by bailiffs. In order to earn money and preserve his property, Vitalis, together with his friend Peter, a Design and Technology teacher, and Marta, a 12th-grade student, gets involved in very dangerous transactions - contraband trade. The situation is slowly getting out of the teachers' control. In order to save himself and all dreams, there is nothing left to do - they to organize a hostage crisis in a small town. And the Latgalian roulette is rolled.
