Everyone wears masks and hides secrets. Mary Ndlovu, affectionately known in her community as the 'Mother of the Nation', has the most impenetrable mask of all: motherhood, piety, and charity. "Mother Mary" founded and runs the House of Grace, taking in unwanted, at-risk, and delinquent children and giving them a stable home and an education. Mary dresses impeccably, holds herself with pride, and attends church regularly. Nobody would ever connect her with the notorious, shadowy East Rand crime boss Voster--except her son Gabriel.
