Manden som ville skyde sig selv (1982)

Semyon is unemployed and about to lose his self-esteem because it humiliates him to live by his wife's money. A bitter remark is laid out as if he wants to take his own life. When the rumor goes to town, it suddenly makes him an interesting and significant person and he experiences the recognition he has so longed for. Deputations from various interest groups all have good, idealistic suggestions as to which cause he should die for. They arrange a party banquet to say goodbye to their "hero".
