Daniel 2023 (2023)

This is the true story of Daniel, a boy who was adopted at 18 months old, from the around the age of six years old he was physically abused by his father, this continued until he was 17 when he left home to escape his abuse. Daniel did not know why his father hurt him, he was too small to understand what was happening to him, he thought it was because he was a naughty child but did not know why he was beaten so severely. Daniel visited the doctors and was taken to hospital because of his injuries from his he sustained. The discomfort and uncertainty of his new surroundings, and the abuse and not knowing of his past led him on a life of self-destruction from a very early age, as he grew older, he had to deal with racism and violence which led him to fall into a life of crime, drugs, despair, deep depression, and suicidal thoughts. We follow Daniels life from his very first memory, the day of adoption and onto his early years, his teen years and twenties which were his most destructive to himself and others. Daniel does have some fun on the way, he recollects many fond memories and happy times. He starred in many TV shows and movies throughout his life which he loved and found love for himself and others. Unfortunately, these were not his strongest memories. In his adult years, the late thirties, and forties he finally feels human with meaning in his life as the horrors of his past finally start to fade. Daniels's life has been hell, and he caused hell along the way, he desperately tried to right his wrongs throughout his life, which at one point he finally got to feel at peace with himself and his abuse, he learned to love, forgive, and have compassion for himself and others. After all the good Daniel did later in life, helping people, raising money for charities, being mindful of the consequences of his actions, he still felt very distant and detached from the world, but could not figure out why he has been punished for simply living. He finds solace and comfort in his life building his own family and little haven. Daniel has learned to be strong in life, after all the bad he has been through gave him a sense of resilience towards anything that had the potential to jeopardize his life and mental health. Life has certainly not been kind to this young boy, with all the odds stacked against him and walls put up at every turn of his life, does he have anything left in him to conquer his demons and the ghosts from his past? only time will tell. Daniel recently learned he has cancer, and his world has collapsed once again, so another fight has begun with the worst demon of all.
