The AFL Show (2016)

This 25-part documentary series follows the journey of Chen Shaoliang, a player from a remote village in Guangdong in South China as he joins Port Adelaide Football Club to pursue his dreams to one day play in the AFL (Australian Football League). When injury forces Chen onto the sidelines, he becomes an ambassador for the sport, providing an insight into AFL in Australia and a behind the scenes look at the practices of an elite AFL club. The show introduces the culture surrounding AFL to a Chinese audience, bringing weekly highlights and showcasing the beautiful regions and attractions of South Australia. The show was broadcast weekly on CCTV-5+ in China.
