At the end of the 1920s, after a mining accident that cost the lives of two prospectors, their heirs formed a company that was concerned with developing the Buenaventura copper deposit in the vicinity of Sewell. These heirs are, on the one hand, the children of one of the prospectors, the Serrano brothers, Víctor and Manuel, and on the other, the Spanish family of the other prospector, that is, his widow and his son, Pascual.
