Jeritan Si Buyung (1977)

Buyung and his mother arrive in Tanjung Priok to find his father, Rachmat. But he no longer works as a coolie in the harbor. Then Buyung's wallet is stolen, and his mother dies out of hunger. So Buyung does all kinds of odd jobs to survive while searching for his father, who has become an EMKL (Indonesian Export Company) businessman. Buyung manages to meet his father, but decides not to reveal his identity. Rachmat is already married and has a daughter, Shanty. Buyung applies for work as a servant at his father's house. He is hired even though there are already two servants working there. The two "senior" servants give a lot of grief to Buyung, heightening the film's melodrama. One day, Shanty loses her earrings. She confesses to Buyung, who then sells a necklace left to him by his mother to replace the earrings. When he is selling the necklace, Harjo, one of the other servants, sees him, as he is selling a necklace that he stole from the house. When a commotion ensues at the house due to the missing necklace, Buyung becomes the scapegoat. Rachmat then goes to the place where Buyung sold his necklace. Then Rachmat realizes the truth about the past, that his relationship with a girl in his village long ago, produced a child.
