Maharaja (2024)

A humble barber in Chennai reports the theft of “Lakshmi”, a dustbin that saved his daughter's life during an accident. Upon reporting the theft, the officers scoff at him, but Maharaja manages to convince them to investigate the case through bribes. The investigation becomes increasingly complex as the protagonist's objective seems to be different. Through time jumps, details of the past are revealed that increase the tension and unveil new information. This piece is the second film by Indian director Nithilan Saminathan.
