Naa Puttna Mann (2011)

This film tries to capture the change in society, due to consumerism and modernisation. It draws the attention of changing priorities of the people. These days people do not encourage marrying their daughter to army men. They prefer to marry their daughters to IT professionals or doctors. This is the story of a girl named Muthamma whose uncle wants her to marry a software engineer. She falls in love with Karthik Aiyappa, an army soldier and wants to marry him. Karthik has already lost his father who had served the Indian Army. This makes Muthamma's uncle wholly against the marriage. But she marries him against opposition. After few months Karthik goes back to the war field and sacrifices his life. Muthamma's uncle returns to haunt her and reminds her of his advice to marry a software engineer. However Muthamma is proud of her husband who sacrificed his life for the Nation and in his memory sets herself a goal to change the perception of the people about joining Indian Army. She goes from place to place, college to college preaching young people to join the army and serve he soil where they were born.
