God Is a Beetle (2022)

Aline studied graphic design and is now starting a reluctant traineeship as an art teacher. When her boyfriend left her on top of that, she fled to her parents in the country. In this moment of crisis, she makes the acquaintance of a catholic priest who can talk about faith beyond religion. Aline finds it interesting, but remains critical. Benjamin works as a student trainee at the Süddeutsche Zeitung, but always wanted to be a writer. He's disappointed in himself overall. A search for progressive things in Christianity should give him consolation and maybe a new perspective. Then Benjamin discovers Aline in an orthodox church in Munich. He speaks to her. A hybrid film that oscillates between documentary elements and feature film.
