Bidding of a Drug Dealer

Bidding of a Drug Dealer" is a coming-of-age story that follows Grant Olson shortly after he is kicked out of his stepfather's trailer after an argument about sending Grant's mother to rehab. Robert tells Grant to return when he becomes a "real man." In desperation, he asks his only Friend Dom if he can stay at his place for a couple of days. After the first night, Grant overhears Dom discussing this living arrangement with Julian, his older brother whom he lives with. Julian says he doesn't trust Grant with the operation he is running out of his house. In order to earn Julian's trust and with hopes of getting the money to send his mother to rehab, Dom breaks into Robert's trailer to steal prescription pill bottles from his mother. This is where the audience is introduced to his mother who watches Grant look for the pills but she is too strung out to move. With hesitation, Grant brings the pills to Jullian, who is angry at first, but to Grant's surprise tells Grant to sell the pills for him. Grant agrees. Julian forces Dom to go with him which Dom is not happy about. Dom is bright and usually stays out of his brother's business. Julian gives Dom a gun and his car which they use to drive to the meeting spot. The climax of the film follows the two friends as they attend this drug deal. The man they are supposed to meet eventually tries to rob them which results in Grant getting beat up and Dom shooting the man. Dom and Grant panic. In this panic, Dom grabs the money and leaves Grant with the dying man to take responsibility. The film ends with the parking lot being swarmed by police and Grant alone to face the consequences of "Becoming a Man."
