Resistance (2022)

Based on the true story of Józef Gabcik and the Czechoslovakian resistance fighters of "Operation Anthropoid", "Resistance" (2022) explores the primal dilemma of risking everything to do one's duty in the rise against tyranny, or simply expiring in the transient bliss of willful ignorance. As members of the 1942 Czechoslovak Army-in-exile plot an association attempt on Nazi German SS Reinhard Heydrich (head of the gestapo and key architect of the Holocaust) ex-resistance fighter Alexei Nemo Baletic is once again enticed to rejoin the resistance when a tenacious young widow Yeva (Sofia Contal) pays him an unexpected visit to rudely interrupt his daydream and remind him of his duty. The only remaining soldier, Alexei must now decide whether losing his love Dimitri Nikolai Afanasev is worth returning to a war his countrymen are unlikely to win.
