Rachel de Queiroz - A História de Quem nos Contou Muitas Estórias (2013)

The production highlights the life and work of Ceará writer Rachel de Queiroz, born in the city of Fortaleza in 1910. Rachel is considered one of the biggest names in national literature. The writer was a novelist, translator and chronicler of newspapers and magazines, an innovative fact at the time, since most women did not have access to education and literature. The writer had her name highlighted in the social fiction of the Northeast. Her work "O Quinze" was known throughout the country for showing the struggle of the Northeastern people against drought and misery that plagued this Region in 1915. In addition, she wrote children's literature, anthologies and plays. Among her works are: Memorial of Maria Moura, Dora Doralina, The three Maria, Mandacaru, Menino Mágico, among others. Rachel de Queiroz was the first woman to be a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL), where she occupied chair number 5.
