A Gift of Prosperity (2021)

A documentary by Jonathan A. Boschen on the Legacy of the Field Memorial Library in Conway Massachusetts. The library which opened in 1901 was a gift to the town of Conway from the great Chicago merchant and notable businessman Marshall Field. Field was originally born in Conway Massachusetts in 1834, and at the age of 17 he left for the town of Pittsfield to pursue a career in selling dry goods. In 1856 Field left for Chicago Il, and overtime attained a career larger than life by building one of America's most noteworthy department stores. By the arrival of the twentieth century Field was worth what would be consider today $66-Billion. In 1900, Field used his hard earned money to build and give his beloved hometown the Field Memorial Library. Through exploring Marshall Field's legacy, Boschen's video shares with viewers why Conway's Field Memorial Library is a national treasure.
