Flypaper (2022)

The story takes place entirely in a decaying manor house that has been separated into apartments and reflects a civilization in decline. Florence and Betty are best friends, roommates and are very hungry. Florence spends her days making fake food out of photos and cardboard, and Betty spends her's fighting the urge to eat dead flies. The pair can only watch (and listen) with unbridled envy when the weekly delivery of groceries arrives for the building's wealthy owner. When the owner won't respond to repeated knocking, the delivery boys leave two boxes of groceries, brimming with fruit, cheese, meat, bread and wine in the hallway outside his door. Florence and Betty decide to investigate. Along with a reclusive neighbour William, they discover that the building owner has mysteriously died and the boxes of groceries are theirs for the taking. However, the groceries suddenly disappear and when the three friends go in search of them, they're confronted by their own humanity or maybe lack thereof. Ultimately, they discover that generosity, courage, sacrifice, and skill with a meat cleaver, will get them fed while fighting amongst themselves will not.
