Glorious Dead is an amazingly daring project. The movie is much more than a narrative storytelling. It assumes the dimension of a Magnum Opus by the sheer audacity of its drama. The movie begins from the time of first human and moves seamlessly between a pseudo religious societal order that is gradually demolished by seemingly powerless women, to the story of a legendary German actress living in seclusion in Cannes and slow unraveling of a larger than life aura of an Indian Film Director and the libidinous relationship of him with his cantankerous actress by and his female companion. They both, Lucifer and his companion, teaches the German actress emancipation from restricting thoughts of glory, darkness, and the frailty of fame. The entire narrative stems from the seemingly harmless journey of four forest women through the treachery of ego, and the ensuing human sins and their subsequent actions which leave everlasting impressions on every character of the movie thereafter. They, the characters of the movie seem to be guided by the actions of the four women. The movie is absurdly simplistic at times and yet it leaves a latent question that can only be deciphered by the viewer. The magical clement of this movie unbelievably created by filming with not a conventional camera, but the very Ubiquitous iPhone.
