Short Film Documentary that explores the sport of climbing from a feminine perspective. It shows the overcoming of physical and mental challenges. The film travels around Venezuela and shows how challenging, or, "Cuesta Arriba" (Up Hill)' can be the practice of this sport, not only for women, but for anyone who has to face obstacles both on and of the rock. Cuesta Arriba was born from the fusion of interests between the directors, combining the climbing knowledge of Veronica Badell and the audiovisual knowledge of Veronica Contreras. They, together, learned, studied and trained until both achieved the necessary physical and mental level to put together this Short Film Documentary. Thus, what began as their University Monteavila Final Project, ended up being the means to discover their passion adventure documentary cinema. The co-directors first motivation was to participate in the Ascenso Festival Contest in Venezuela, in which they won 1st Place along with other awards. However, while traveling through Venezuela filming their short documentary, they became more and more inspired by unique people and stories in the country. They discovered a great variety of places to climb in Venezuela and fell in love with the country's landscapes. The kindness of the Venezuelans who helped them unconditionally in every corner of the country were key to do not give up on the story they wanted to show on screen. (2015)
