A Shameful Honor (2021)

They say that what triggers a serial killer's murder spree, more often than not, is when someone he deeply cared for is no longer under his control...Traditionally, people who either remind him of that person or influence that person's thought process, will begin to be eliminated one by one; as he desires to target the one whom let him down, but just can't. So, when a handful of young women begin to disappear from Dearborn Mercy College, and detectives learn that she is the only common denominator; Adeena Bukhari's once normal life begins to turn upside down. Coming from a family who immigrated from Uganda 30 years ago, they have always raised her to be an upstanding citizen and obedient Muslim. Living in America, even though surrounded by others of the same or similar heritage, she has always felt different. They have often fallen victim to a multitude of hate crimes for both their culture and religious beliefs. As 'luck' would have it, Adeena was attacked on campus last month and police still don't have the evidence necessary to hold the guy. Due to not always being accepted; over the years, she has gotten her father to relax on some beliefs, such as allowing her to be hijab free and live on campus. However, that is the extent of her metaphoric leash. So, as her friends and acquaintances begin to vanish, even before the police determine her to be the commonality; Adeena begins to wonder not only if she could be the next victim, but also just how close to the killer she may be.
