Trick Box (2020)

A 16 year old boy, Trey, tries to hold his family together while excelling in school. He comes home to find his brothers sitting outside on the stairs, as his mother and a stranger are inside doing drugs. His mother has used her check to buy drugs--money the family needed to pay the rent. Distraught and afraid of once again having to move away from a place he and his brothers have settled into, Trey explodes in rage and runs his mother and the stranger from their home and confronts the drug dealers who sold her the drugs. Mister, who represents the strength of the community, intervenes and helps Trey to see his way out of his Trick Box.
