The French writer Romain Gary spent in Bulgaria two years. He arrived in Sofia in 1946 as Secretary of the French Legation. At that time the country was at a turning point. The authors have tried to restore the atmosphere of this grim epoch, through Gary's memories, diplomatic reports, archive film newsreels, and the materials from his dossier, kept by the State Security services.
