The cafe is almost empty. The visitor tries in vain to choose a meal to his liking. A barmaid and two waitresses discuss a recent radio broadcast in which a retired waiter talked about the plight of his colleagues in the old days. The visitor is nervous: it is impossible to eat borscht, crayfish are already without mites, the milk is sour, the beer is warm - The upset client, leaving, reports that he was speaking on the radio. The waitresses apologize: they thought it was a simple customer, and now they will serve him instantly. A person refuses and in a peculiar form - verses and personal example - gives a lesson in cultural service.
