Red Mountain (2015)

Yang Tianjiang, a young man with aspirations of college and a modern way of life, finds himself on an opposite path of destiny while living on China's Red Mountain. With his father having already predestined him to become a mountain ranger, Yang Tianjiang discovers what it means to become a man, who is forced to deal with love, lost, pain, fatherhood and tradition. When Yang meets Pan Xuli, a confident, beautiful local, they instantly fall in love with one another. The two are soon enthralled in a romantic relationship when tragedy strikes and drives a wedge between them. Yang is then forced to choose where to direct his energy and rage, while Pan Xuli chooses to follow her heart. Braving the mountainside, Yang attempts to immerse himself in the role of a mountain ranger, where he discovers a foe who haunts him long after their first encounter. Having to be reminded his dreams by way of old friends and heartache, Yang is constantly in conflict with what is and what could have been. With the well-being of the mountain and its inhabitants resting on Yang's shoulders, Yang dares to live up to a fate which is all but unknown to him during his journey on Red Mountain.
