How does sound effect us? In this short documentary, we are introduced to the World Soundscape Project (WSP) by Prof. Barry Truax. According to Truax, the WSP's theories examine our everyday relationship to sound and how we learn to listen. Next we are introduced to David Pay who used these theories to help inform Fuse - an evening event held at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Using his knowledge of the WSP and his background as Artistic Director of Music on Main in Vancouver, David Pay hoped to expand the question of how we understand and identify with our relationship to sound in a predominantly visual culture and society. How does each of us listen, what do we chose to hear, what is our relationship to the movement of sound?
