French Movie (2016)

A film director, while being filmed for a documentary about himself, goes to Paris in September 2015 and starts to lose his mind. Or is he? He starts to realize he is in a French New Wave Godardian universe, in a city called Betaville. Betaville is unmistakably a doppelganger for Paris. His wife arrives but he does not recognize her. Convinced he is being pursued by assassins and terrorists for Kafkaesque reasons unknown, he runs around iconic locations trying to find answers. Reality intrudes with real terrorism in Betaville, shattering the director's fantasies. This is a comedy thriller about existentialism, French cinema, sexual passions, oysters and snails.
