Italian jeweler Matteo Belmonte and his wife Christine are robbed for the third time in the few months time. Fearing his wife in imminent danger, Matteo fires two shots. The robber Rufin dies at the feet of Romy, the couple's daughter. Self-defense? Murder attempt? The legal machination goes berserk, social networks run rampant, and the couple begin to fall apart.
