A train. 3 different stories. 2 young people. He and she meet in a noisy train. In the 1st story, she is a bold girl and he is a headstrong guy. Their conversation leads to warm relationships. In the 2nd story she is a bright girl and he is a young and diffident professor. Their meeting ends badly - they are completely different people. In the 3rd story she is a shy girl and he drunks, going off on adventures. Their story doesn't end there. The leitmotif of the film is the fictional name of Stephanie, explaining their actions.
