Davis Grey writes Shep Beckett action novels. Which become Shep Beckett action movies. That become blockbuster hits. That was then, in 1999. Now, in 2024 he, and his subject Shep Beckett are forgotten commodities. Lost to the world, he lives in the pool house of his once beautiful home, that his mother and twin half-sisters now occupy. Day and night he types away to finish the novel that will bring him, and Shep, back to present to make them "relevant" again. On Sunday, He prints up the pages, drives to his long time publisher's building (by only taking right hand turns) and hand-delivers the manuscript to his long time publisher's son. This time he wants to write the screenplay adaptation himself. The publisher's son has different ideas: Kill off Shep Beckett and come up with a new edgy and diverse character in a month, or we're dropping you. With this, Davis begins the journey to save his career and ultimately himself, as he takes lesson in "How to be Edgy" from a female Millennial that pushes him to the limits of reality.
