Iain's extraordinary life was complicated by Crohn's Disease, an immunological condition where the body attacks its own digestive system. Iain's condition was so severe that he eventually had to resort to surgery to bypass his entire large intestine. Iain's 'never give up' attitude lead him to an experimental therapy that promised to not just control his symptoms, but to put his disease into deep remission so that he may consider reversing his ileostomy, reconnecting his colon and his life in the process.
