100 Years of Wedding Dresses features authentic, nontraditional wedding dresses in real period spaces. Our goal was to show nontraditional brides throughout history and that every bride is beautiful on her wedding day and beyond. 100 Years of Wedding Dresses was sponsored by Chez Vous Catering, a catering company located on Staten Island. We filmed in the Historic Edgewater Hall which was built in 1876. We also briefly shot in Overspray, an event space on Staten Island. The designers featured for 100 Years of Wedding Dresses are: Monkey Girlz Boutique, Hey Viv!, Bossina Couture, and Every Thing Goes Clothing. ETG Clothing provided the clothing for the following looks: 1900, 1946, 1980, and 1990. They also provided the fur for the 1920 and 2000 looks. Monkey Girlz provided the looks for the 1910-40s and the 1960-80s as well as all of the accessories, veils, and jewelry. Hey Viv. provided the pink 1950s dress, all of the gloves, the white pillbox hat, and the cream birdcage hat worn for the 1946 look. Bossina Couture provided all of the looks for the modern day wedding gowns from 2000 and 2016. Most of these dresses were worn by actual brides during their respective eras (except for the 2000-2016 dresses, those are sample gowns from Bossina Couture and have been worn by many brides since 2006). We have documentation to go along with each of the gowns, along with their original wedding photos, sketches of the original dresses, and even pictures of other generations wearing the gowns on their various wedding days.
