Prisão: imagem da vingança social (2018)

The documentary shows the reality of the prison system of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, especially in the ten units located in Recife and metropolitan area. The statements presented are from people who work in the units (managers, lawyers, specialized technical staff and penitentiary agents) who deal directly with inmates of prison units. The reality captured by the lens shows the attempt to execute the society disciplinary project, which finds in Prison one of the most evident spaces of the definition of the discipline as an institutional instrument of more effective control over jail, considering that this space allows the examination and surveillance of the prison and the control over the condemned. However, even this project of discipline and control designed for the prison model is failed because the system is precarious with deficiencies in the physical structure, in the operation and the human resources that compose it.
