Mystique no 375 (2017)

10 year old Kriselle lives on her own with her Dad Mackie in a Scottish seaside town. When she's not helping her Dad run the local theatre, Kriselle is playing imaginative games on the beach with her best friend Roland. Kriselle is wise beyond her years, and has a hankering for being on stage herself - but something is holding her back: the theatre is fast losing money, and Mackie worries that it may have to close down. Then, Kriselle has a brainwave: wouldn't the audience love to see a show with Frangipane, the biggest star around? When the glamorous and exotic Frangipane turns up, accompanied by her coiffured dog Napoleon, things don't go as smoothly as Kriselle hoped. And as the big performance night looms, it's chaos - can Kriselle save the day, and, with Roland, save the theatre? And do she and Frangipane have more in common than they could ever have imagined?
