The Sugarland Express (1974)

Down-on-their-luck Lou-Jean and Clovis Poplin, small-time crooks with a heart of gold, lose their child to foster care. Desperate, Lou-Jean busts Clovis out of jail, and together they pull off a daring heist: retrieving their son and a hapless highway patrolman caught in the crossfire. A massive manhunt ensues across Texas, transforming the Poplins from bumbling criminals into unlikely folk heroes.
