The Deer Hunter (1978)

Three friends, Michael, Steven, and Nick, live in a tight-knit steel mill town in Pennsylvania, where hunting and camaraderie are integral to their lives. As 1968 unfolds, the trio enlists to fight in Vietnam, bidding farewell at Steven’s wedding. After being captured by the Viet Cong, they endure harrowing Russian roulette games before escaping. Learning Nick remains trapped in Vietnam, Michael returns to save him, facing a tragic confrontation.
