Bobby McCain (Christopher Atkins) is a silvertail Californian playboy posing as an exchange lifeguard to check out the investment potential for his father's (Elliot Gould) multinational corporation. When the Mullet Beach perfect lifestyle of fun in the sun is threatened, Bobby is torn between loyalty to his father and to his new found friends especially the king of the beach Mick (Julian McMahon) and Julie, the gorgeous surf queen.
