Clear and Present Danger (1994)

Admiral James Greer falls seriously ill and Ryan is assigned as deputy director of the CIA. His first assignment is to investigate the assassination of a friend of the President, a prominent businessman with ties to the drug trade. However, he soon discovers that the CIA is sending a paramilitary force against the cartel. Ryan decides to risk everything to expose the truth. With an excellent narrative, this ingenious action thriller with moments of humour and plenty of suspense is absolutely absorbing.
