Lola (1914)

When Lola Barnhelun, whom everyone loves and admires, is tragically killed in an automobile accident, her doctor/scientist father uses a machine that is his own invention to restore her life, but although her body still retains Lola's form, her soul has left her, and her nature drastically changes. Lola becomes an amoral adventuress, breaks with her loving fiance' John Dorris, and has affairs with many men. Soon her heart weakens under the strain and a physician tells her that a severe shock could kill her. She returns to her father's home and begs him to restore her to life if she should die again, but after she has a fatal heart attack during an argument with him, Dr. Barnhelun destroys the machine and mourns over her lifeless body.
