The Swamp (1973)

With a large leather suitcase crammed with embezzled money, the ruthless founders of a dummy construction corporation try to escape in their small private plane. Instead, they find themselves stranded on a thin stretch of swampland. Now, to retrieve the cash and repair the aeroplane, their only means of escape, the unscrupulous gang must enlist the help of the islet's grizzled lighthouse keeper to succeed. But the sweet scent of easy profit has also attracted unlikely ally Vagelis, a dangerous former convict. As murderous greed, ruinous lust, and sweltering heat get the best of them, unforeseen complications threaten their plans. As a result, relentless questions arise. Can money corrupt morals? What will it take to defeat the unforgiving swamp and make it out of there alive?
