Life Without a Smile (1971)

Left to rot in a dark and dank cell of a public sanatorium, a young woman summons up the courage to rebel, and escape from the hell-hole. After years of therapy, the fugitive tries to wipe the slate clean and bury the ugly past, after a chance encounter with a handsome and kind-hearted race-car driver. Will she be spared the pain, and finally taste what life has to offer as a new woman?
