Jo and Nik are best friends until they start having to contend with boys and sex. When Jo finds out that her favourite teacher has AIDS, she becomes obsessed with the subject and bases her school artwork on the theme of safe sex. At the same time Nik is becoming involved with a boy and decided to have sex with him - without condoms.
