Difficult Roads (1965)

In a poverty-stricken, working-class neighbourhood of mid-1960s Piraeus, in the heart of the industrial zone, the successful singer and bouzouki player, Andrikos, has set his sights on marrying sweet Maria, unbeknownst to her that he is not motivated by love. On the contrary, the handsome performer wants to steal her away from her true beau, Dimitris, an impecunious factory worker, and he will stop at nothing to satisfy his hatred. As a result, a defeated Dimitris has no other choice but to leave everyone and everything behind, and seek a better future in far-off Australia. Is this the end of a great romance?
