The Taxi Driver (1953)

Like a rooster in a hen house, the exuberant confirmed bachelor and happy-go-lucky cab driver, Vagos, enjoys the benefits of the single life as the neighbourhood's Casanova. Perpetually stone broke, and always in search of customers, Vagos combs the busy early-1950s Athenian streets driving his strict boss' unsafe old jalopy, until--under not-so-ideal conditions--he has a chance encounter with the absent-minded but lovely milliner, Lela. Of course, it's love at first sight; however, Lela is unlike any other girl, and Vagos still seems reluctant to renounce his former self. Will Vagos ever settle down, for his own sake?
