In a young-film-circle in West Berlin, directors make their narrow-film projectors whir; the produced "films" are then presented to an audience. In filmmaker circles, this is considered the last cry of Western cinematography. Two students of Dahlem University also operate in these circles: Charly Erdmann and Eddi Zapp. They listen very attentively to the full-length debates of the filmmakers present, and they endeavor to internalize the jargon of the industry. One day, they too will set off to reap "movie glory."
