Documentary traces the career path of American musician Jeff Buckley, beginning with his untimely death in 1997 then backtracking to examine his musical roots. Although mother Mary supplies the story of his early years, the larger part of the narrative unfolds in the words of Jeff's contemporaries; interviews concentrate on bandmates, studio crew, & others who worked with him professionally. It pays special attention to his New York tenure - in particular, his breakout performance at the St. Ann's tribute for biological father Tim, and his appearances at Manhattan's Sin-é - as well as his final days in Memphis. Includes youth photos, little-seen performance clips, exclusive interviews, and archive material.
