Anarchy reigns in the mid-Chosun period after the country is invaded by northern barbarians who pillage and plunder as they please. Swordsmaster Sak refuses to fight on behalf of the people. Instead, he begins teaching martial arts in the villages so the citizens can learn to protect themselves.
