In his musical comedy about the everyday man "Larsen" from 1935, Kjeld Abell formulates his first ironic-satirical warning against the petty bourgeoisie and its uncommitted neatness. Melody, rhythm and jazz represent in contrast a more open, compassionate life experience that can transform the unimaginative habitual life.
